Advice Por Favor??

Ok... Here's my situation. I have recently replaced my "EGR" valve, and pressure sensor on my 93' "ATX" 3.2L. My check engine light was coming on at various times "Mostly highway" before this. After the replacements, the light now comes on a lot more and stays on instead of fluctuating. A guy at my work cleared my codes for me, and ran a scan. It came up with two codes... Code 332, and Code 176. I know 332 is "EGR", and 176 is my front bank 2 oxygen sensor. Why the heck would I get an "EGR" code after I replaced both "EGR" parts correctly?? Can my malfunctioning oxygen sensor tie into the "EGR" not being able to function properly?? Any advice is much appreciated!!!!

I would change both the 02 sensors if they havent been recently. EGR stands for exaust gas return (Did you already know that?) so i guess it could be a possibilty the 02s are causing some flux maybe? shrug

Spend 50 bucks, replace whatever O2 sensor you need to do(left) and then see what happens. Do it your self! Much cheaper and its pretty easy. Good luck!


I think a faulty O2 sensor could do what you are saying, but I'd wait for more qualified ****'s to voice there opinion before you go gung *** on what I say. Know what I mean?!

What the **** happened to yours. Yes you can borrow mine, the cost is 300 up front, then 100 dollars a day for a week, then it goes up 50 dollars everyday i dont have it back. Plus shipping, handling, national tax, state tax, city tax, county tax, school tax, then you got those tarrifs you gotta deal with, hit me up...

The 332 is either a clogged intake manifold port or a problem in the EGR sensing system, most likely.

Now we're gettin' somewhere!! Anyone have pics of these "Nostrils" I need to clean up, and the best procedure to do this?

I feel my nostrils are the culprit, and I ran out of Benadryl yesterday... finger

The picture of the "nostrils" has been posted in here before. You can see them if you remove the intake air hose from the throttle body and open the throttle plate by hand. There are two sets of these ports: the upper set is for the idle air control circuit and the lower pair is the outlet for the Exhaust Gas Recirculation system.

To clean the nostrils, you should remove the throttle body for better access.
