Does anyone know the part number and price of an adjustable fan relay? I remember JT and Tomw having one. Does anyone know which ones they use? Thanks for your time.

Sorry Bizzy, No dice on that one. It woud work, but I'm looking one that goes into the coolant stream and then turns on at a desired temp. If you find anything else, let me know. Thanks for the input. thumbs_u

Its make by the Flex-A- Lite fan company. I don't remember the part #, but think that Summit Racing can get them for you.

I used the flex-a-lite one on my '97. You still use the PCM/ECM to switch the fan. No relays are needed you already have them built in.

The way the car is setup from the factory is the PCM will ground the relays turning the fans on. The relays are in the CCR/ICR. When the car is in the run position, the PCM will lift the ground until the temp sender says to turn on the fan, at which time the PCM will ground the relay. What you want to do is to ground the relay at an lower temp so the fan will come on sooner. You can also add a manual switch that will work in conjunction with the automatic switch.

If you use the instructions on http://www.v8sho.com/SHO/Cooling_Fan_Override_Switch.htm this will run your fans by grounding the relay, which is a very low amperage draw, and when the key is not in the run position the fans shut off.

The instructions at the V8 SHO site are for a Gen 3 but if you tell me what year you have I can tell you which wire to ground out. Then the rest of the instructions are the same. This is done through a tap in the ground wire so the normal fan operation is still always there.

If you are going to NOT use the built in relays you will have to add your own. The Flex-I-lite fan switch is only rated at 15A. Your high speed fan will need a relay rated at 40A.

I cannot help with the wire if you have a car older than a '92.

Here is the part number for the switch Flex-I-lite part # FLX-31147 at Summit Racing.
