I just got back from Ultimate Electonics in Dallas, TX where the guy tried to install a simple Python keyless entry system. He said he couldn't do it because of the way the wiring is done in my driver's door. I don't have factory keyless. He said the was a plug instead of wires coming out of the door and he did not know how to get the keyless to enter the drivers door for the hookup.

Does anyone know if I can add keyless to my 1994 SHO?

I don't have the factory Keyless. I have an automatic if that means anything. Thanks in advance!

Anything can be done. You do have the power door locks though right? At least the setup and the actuators are already in place correct? Where o where is Gil Shoemaker? Try the search function. I found this thread from Adam. I can't believe it's been a whole year since we discussed this. I might even try to reach him first. http://shoforum.com/showthread.php?t=20023&highlight=Gil

I have all the power options available. I think the guy just didn't know what wires to hook up. I will read the thread you pointed me to. Thanks,

My Dad's '93 ATX has remote start/door locks on his. I think it is a Viper system... The only problem the guy had was he hooked a wire up wrong for the climate control. He fixed it right away though. I recommend you find a shop that knows what they are doing.

On the non keyless cars it is a reverse type door locking system. Simply have the installer do this:

Get two relays (SPDT) one for the lock and the other for the unlock circuits.

Relay #1
Wire pins as follows for the LOCK SIDE
85 - lock output on alarm.
86 (B+)
87 (B+)
87a (Connect to switch side of lock actuator wire) pink/yellow
30 (Connect to motor side of lock actuator wire) pink/yellow
You will obviously cut that wire in half.

Relay #2
Wire pins as follows for the UNLOCK SIDE
85 - unlock output on alarm.
86 (B+)
87 (B+)
87a (Connect to switch side of lock actuator wire) pink/lt green
30 (Connect to motor side of lock actuator wire) pink/lt green
You will obviously cut that wire in half as well.

Tell your installer this lessons on me.

Awesome! I will relay that info to a good installer! Anyone know one in the Dallas Area?

I also want to thank everyone for all of the help on this forum. I am a new SHO owner and starting to restore a 1994 ATX. I have always loved these cars and you guys make it fun to work on. Thanks again!

I am trying to find a problem w/my '93s door locks... They work from the remote but not the switches. I've cleaned the contacts but still no go... Can I apply ground/power directly to the wiring that the switch plugs into to test the wiring itself?

I wouldn't do it. I'd take a multimeter and test accordingly. The keyless cars have a different type of door locking system, so there IS a difference.

What excatly should I look for? I did a test already but I don't remember the results. It was something like 10 or 11V on the lock circuit and 3v on the unlock circuit.

Ok, then you have a positive door locking system. You can take a DMM or a test light and the current should flow when the switch is pressed. The pink/yellow for lock and pink/lt green for unlock should read B+.
