Yeah what is that? I work for my cities utility department electric not water but I get to do all that fun stuff too hooking up massive circuits and transformers and everything else, always fun when the power goes out because there is no prep time just got to go and figure out what’s wrong along the way I can only work on stuff before its hot because im not certified for the big stuff like 29,000v power lines and all that fun stuff, but I never realized how many switches and circuits there are for one of our substations until this past summer when I started

Oh those.. lol I had to look to see what you were talkin about, forgot about that. That is from a plant in Ohio near Toledo, its a big injection mold machine, they use to make bumpers. There are two halfs to that machine, and one half holds one half of the molds, those big clamps close around those huge screws, and its screws itself down tight, turns on a big blast of LP, and throws molten plastic into the die. Being under pressure it only takes a minuite or so to set, it cracks open, and theres a new front end.

They were doing the Izuzu's SUV, as well as some Esclade front ends when I was there. There were a few conductors in the 'rolling track' that had a braided chinese finger trap looking deal that was used for a sheid from electrical interference. But after time, it bunched up in one spot, and stretched somewhere else. It tore a few up, and we had to R&R them.

7 machines rewired, over the 4th of July holiday. If we didnt get them done they would have lost $22,000 an hour, per machine. Needless to say we got paid / taken care of pretty well for that one. I have a letter of recomendation from Mitisubishi International's machine division over that one. We evidently impressed that VP. :thumb:

Eric, how much was your headwork?

Well.. It will probally end up being around $200 bux maybe a little more, and all of that is labor, they only charged 10 bux a head to clean them tho.. lol thats the bait to get ya in the door.. :) The guy there said he cousin had one they fixed up there before, and they had a few others in there within the past few months. I have only heard good things about them from everyone within 150 miles of here. When I get em back I'll post some pics, and when they're on, if it runs as good as I think it will, I'll have to add them to my list of 'goto guys'. Everyone that actually works on them is about 55-65 years old, and you can tell they've done it for a while. I have no worries at all at this point. :thumb:

:) Yea service calls really suck, because people are always already waiting on it, and they tend not to be too patient. I've done electrical work for what I think is a long time. (6 years) . All commercial or industrial, a few houses for side jobs, but I'll tell you this, always lookout for yourself, and don't do anything you feel uncomfortable with, EVER! Have someone show you if your not certian, or ask questions. I've seen a few people hurt over that time, and we actually had one that died. Nothing is worth that! I usually say I'm not afraid of anything anymore because I work with death knocking at my door all the time. One slip up and its over. 29,000V you wont know what hit ya. 120 / 240 / 277 / 480 You will, and it hurts like ****. Have you noticed there arent any stupid, or ignorant electricians that have done it for a while?

LoL, yea you can't be afraid to get dirty. Thats the coat that is part of my set of carharts I use for work. Darkest color they have to hide everything. It was pretty clean until I pulled the radiator, got some on the floor, and all that good stuff, but sometimes ya gotta get a little dirty to get yourself a nice shiny toy in the end!

And I love that show.. :) That guy rocks! I did see the one episode tho.. he's afraid of heights, he wouldnt climb a tree once, so he has his weaknesses. :)

I am impressed with the site. Every SHO owner has a project if that's what you want to call it.
