I heard there is an adapter that you can get to use with an aftermarket stereo to allow use of the dash controls. Is this true? If so where can I get one.

Yes there is. Its made by Lightning Audio......

The Interface operates with a variety of vehicles that are equipped with steering wheel controls. The SWC converts the signal generated by the steering wheel control to an infrared signal that controls the aftermarket head-unit. The aftermarket head-unit must be equipped with an original infrared remote for the SWC to work. The SWC will work with Alpine, Clarion, Denon, Eclipse, JVC, Nakamichi, Kenwood, Panasonic, Pioneer, Rockford and Sony head units. Other radios with infrared remote controls may be able to use this system. Testing procedures for other head-units are included in the instructions.

You can contact RickieFrat @ Frat's Performance for pricing.
