I'm an electrician and I get bored sometimes, I would just make it out of the plug on the OEM BOV or somethin

What type of industry and work is most common at your company?

I started as an apprentice electrician years ago and worked my way up to project manager. We mostly do industrial and heavy commercial.

Well technically you wouldn't call me an electrician right now im currently in electronics manufacturing, but ive been repairing/manufacturing class 1 electronics for about 7 years between the navy, lockheed Martin, and now raytheon, here I'm building comm racks, I however fo have an apprenticeship and do electrical work for my girlfriends dads pool business and friends

The reason I have not replaced my BOVs with a mech one is I can clearly hear mine with the GT500 hood and they open at what seems to be the most random times (half throttle, cruise control, mid accel.. etc). There has be something going on in the ECU control on them that is beyond what a simple over boost BOV can do.

As for the jarring on the shift points. I do not know if it is related but the actuator in my throttle body dried up and corroded causing the TB to behave in a very jarring and touchy manner.

Yeah the ECU has the entire surge line of the compressors modeled into it and will open the BOV's at any operating point that is unhealthy for the turbo. Aftermarket BOV is a downgrade, but they do offer more bling horsepower.

it can all be tuned for what you want, but electric operations make it smoother and more controllable.
