Acceleration/shifting issues

Hey guys so just got this 2010 SHO and it shifts really smooth normally, but anytime you step on it at all it cranks your neck like someone learning to drive stick. Is that just the aggressive shifting of the sport mode? I also have had twice cruising at 40 that I just totally lost acceleration. Pulled over shut the car off started it (cranks for about 6 seconds then fires) and was good to go after that. Thinking I need to replace my throttle body.

Can't say that either of my cars have had shifting that harsh.

Any codes stored in the car? Some people have had their fuel pump control module go out, there was a recall for them on the 13+ years but I think the car would completely die when it fails. Have you changed your plugs anytime recently or checked the gap on them?

The guy i bought it from said he just had new plugs put in, i guess ill pull them and check if he is lying. There were some codes stored but I dont remember seeing anything like that, when my GF gets home ill pull the codes again and let you know. I just remember seeing an ABS code a traction control code and a couple other minor ones

The tune has been deleted and the car returned to stock i believe. I removed the 3 bar and but the oem MAP back in. I think the guy tried to tune it himself and messed some stuff up but idk if he tuned the trans at all and didn't return it to stock, but ive used the option on the tuner that says return to stock and it appears to have done so.

I know it’s an expensive option but you may benefit from getting a live wire tuner and a tune from GH, Ortiz or unleashed.

I'm in the process of getting a new tune from Ortiz. I dont really see a need to upgrade the tuner itself?

Its really really expensive and difficult to tune with SCT unless you do it for a living. Did the previous owner work at a performance shop or something?

Sometimes flashing back to stock hides other issues for a short while as the car relearns. I'd keep a close eye on it.

The benefits of a Livewire tuner is being able to tap into the sensor data and use it as a dedicated gauge readout. As opposed to having to use your phone to connect via Bluetooth. Also, can you do data logging with the iTSX?

Yeah you can just connect it to an old touchscreen phone or iPad, your paying like $400 for a display, id rather go pay $100 for an old iPad or used phone, its literally just a Bluetooth screen so you dont have to have the app open on your phone all the time

Just tried to read DTC codes with iTSX and it says no codes. My gf says it happened again on her way home. Always at 40mph you just lose acceleration, have to pull over and shut it off and start it again. She said a wrench came up this time but went away after the restart. Again, no codes on iTSX, maybe ill drop by ford tomorrow and see if they can read anything.

From a quick look on tascaparts.com it looks like the throttle body’s are the same from 2010 through 2019.

As for the tuning... I am not sure, Ortiz would have that info.

I did that when he flashed it back to stock, otherwise it would have thrown codes

Sorry thought that was a given. And theyre just that. Rims that you use in the summer. In cold climate areas we tend to have a winter set that isn't as nice cause it tends to get torn up and smaller in order to have taller tires then people run low profiles with bigger rims in the summer.
