I am looking to put in new spark plug wires and motocraft ries are EXPENSIVE and I am sure there is an alternative with comperable performance. Do the 8mm Accel wires FIT and perform well? If not then what alternative would you guys recommend?

Taylor wires. The 8mm ones. I put them on my Sho (red wires) and on my friends sho (blue wires). They are great. I've nver had to try the accel wires, so I cant say if they are good or bad. Sorry.

have you tried the search function? all kinds of plug wire threads..

ac-delco seem to be the most popular aftermarket choice.. mine are 7mm although i thought they were 8. ;(

but work fine none the less. fit nice with motorcraft plugs too.

The ACCEL p/n 5119K spark plug wire set for the '89-95 3.0L/3.2L V6 SHO uses the OEM type spark plug boots, just like the Taylor and AC/Delco sets. The ACCEL set features a high performance low resistance spiral core wire, similar to the Taylor, but it is black and 7mm (same size as AC/Delco) vs. 8mm and blue or red as with the Taylor. You can buy the ACCEL wire set from Summit Racing for under $75 or occasional find them on eBay being sold by an over stock liquidator. They work very well and would be considered a high performance upgrade set (gets more spark energy to the plugs) vs. the high resistance carbon/graphite wire core Motorcraft or AC/Delco wire sets.

No the ACCEL p/n 5119K wire set is in fact 7mm (same as stock), with a double silicone construction (same as Taylor). They went with 7mm because of the hard tube section they use in the 3-pcs spark plug boot was only sized for 7mm wire. Taylor uses a different tube section which allows for 8mm wire. One other advantage to 7mm wire is that it fits better in all the stock wire separators (although you can still force the 8mm to fit, it's just a bit more snug).

Both the ACCEL and Taylor spiral core wire sets are excellent high performance choices vs. the Motorcraft and AC/Delco carbon/graphite wire sets. Considering that Summit Racing sells the blue and red 8mm Taylor wire set p/n's 74268 and 74668 and the ACCEL black 7mm wire set for about the same now at $77-78 each, it's hard not to buy the Taylor set.
