The part number with fourth digit "Z" is the Ford catalog number. The part number with the fourth digit "H" is the engineering number. This will be the actual number stamped on the part. The "YB" part number is the Motorcraft number. These are the parts that could be bought from retailers other than the dealer.

* denotes the change to R134 for the 1994 model year. The only difference is the seals/o-rings required for use with Pag Oil. Otherwise, the parts are exactly the same. For example - An 89 Accumulator can be used on a 95 as long as the correct o-rings are used.

We are looking for A/C parts supply for Gen 1 SHO, 1989.
Will these parts fit? Specifically, the compressor listed.

How much AC refrigerant and oil does my 93 SHO need? I plan to drain and refill my AC system as i have barely any service history on my car.

If doing a complete system flush/overhaul, it takes 32oz of 134 Refrigerant and 7oz of Pag oil. Motorcraft YN12 Pag oil is equivalent to Pag46 but I've seen others use Pag100. I personally use the Motorcraft YN12. You want to put 2-3oz of oil into the compressor and the remaining 4-5oz in at various other points in the system. Condenser, accumulator, evaporator, etc...

If you are unsure of the history of your system then you want to flush the compressor several times on the bench. Use fresh oil and rotate the compressor by hand several times. Drain and repeat over and over until you get nice clean oil coming out of it. I use brake clean and an air compressor to flush the condenser and evaporator if not replacing.

I have a Robinair machine at work(Ford Dealership) it will inject oil but it doesn't flush old oil out. If you are unsure of the history you will want to get all the old oil out as it might not be compatible. Not to Mention the Accumulator and liquid line would need to be replaced. The Accumulator will be saturated with the old oil.

For now that will do as i have other more important things to do on my car, i just need the AC to work for few months before i buy new accumulator and stuff. The machine i plan to borrow is a bit more advanced too, its a Texa Konfort 770. Its a pretty advanced machine with oil injection and vacuum mode.
