I have a 93 SHO. The ac just stopped blowing cold air the other day. I checked the freon and it has a good charge. The ac fuse was blown so i replaced it but it blew again. I think it is either a short in the line from the fuse panel to the compressor(I hope it's not this) or possibly the relay is shorted out. From what I've read the relay is located in the IRCM. Can I replace just the relay or does the whole IRCM unit have to be replaced? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to find out where the short is. Relays seldom short out as they usually fail due to either an open coil winding or bad contacts.

Get an ohm meter and start looking for continuity to ground. Start at the A/C compressor clutch coil and work your way back. Be sure to see if the A/C clutch coil is shorted out first.

I just wanted to give an update, in case anyone has a similar problem. The blower control module($200) was broken and was causing the short.
