I got in my car and started it and it only blew hot air. I ordered the EATC 1995 for dash and nothing else. It has not been put in yet. Is there a good SHO mechanic in North Carolina-hopefully near Wilkesboro? Please let me know. I have other problems. I have ordered the antenna mast, motor and cable and an A post for the left side. I reallly need the AC fixed
and I understand there may be a problem where the whole dash has to come off and a blend door actuator put in and just in case-a new heater cord. It is an 8 hour job I think. I would like to have a good mechanic to diagnose the problem.

So the air blows hot but you ordered the EATC control panel? How do you know that's the problem.....or did you order the 95 EATC to fix the cracked buttons on yours? When you power the system on, put it on 60 Max A/C and listen for the compressor to kick on. Depending on the build date of your 93, you may have R12 or R134a; hopefully the latter, otherwise you'll probably need to convert the system for another $100 bucks if you require any system work, such as a compressor replacement.

Edit. I see you added to your post. Do you know it's the blend-door actuator? It can cause the car to get stuck blowing only hot or cold air. The heater core is totally different. If your heat works, it's fine; I think you have to go in more deeply to do a heater core though; not sure.

if your eatc works allbeit with cracked buttons, press the warmer (red) button past 70 or 75 degrees and when you here something in the vents switch, usually a light clicking noise at least in mine, then you know the blend door actuator is functioning
