Hello, just got my 89 SHO a few months ago. Definitely have some reading to do but did a lot to try and get it up to speed. Currently, I'm trying to get the AC work. One of the previous owners cut the line that goes into the firewall. I purchased a replacement line, tried my luck with the FOUR SEASONS 55620 from Rock Auto but I noticed they made this part incorrectly. If you go to the rock auto website you can almost see that the fitting that goes into firewall is facing the wrong way. Has anyone else had this experience? I know it has a rubber line that allows for some flex, but if I were to flex it, I'd almost be creating a kink in the rubber. Any tips?

I have replaced AC lines on a couple SHO's over the years and it is always a pain, and that line does look like it will take a lot of bending to get it on the evaporator. Never had an issue with Four Seasons, and I remember the line never looking right but it looked correct installed. Does it look bad when you try to align it sitting on the bench? I went out to the garage and the line still has the Four Seasons 55620 on it. So, i am guessing that stubby flex hose handles a lot of twisting.

I haven't dry fitted it yet. But its funny, even in the photos it looks like the connector on both ends are facing the wrong direction. I Was hoping it was just a packaging issue

So that pic is off the Rock Auto info page for the 55620. The bottom pipe coming out of the accumulator is oriented correctly, but the hose that attaches to the evaporator should be pointing right, not left. You won't be able to twist the hose through 180 degrees.
However, do you have the part in hand now? You might find that the hose actually points right, not left.

No. I've installed four of them. It was made wrong. There's no reason for them to have changed the design. You could order another one from Rock Auto but return it immediately if it's the same. Or:

This picture is reversed. Flip the image vertically left to right and you have the approx. orientation. Hope this helps

Take a look at the pics of the SHO Source accumulator to see what it's supposed to look like. The first and third pics are MTX. The middle pic is an ATX.
