dont know if you should try to remove the stripe due to the fact that if the fender was peeling/flaking like that its beacuse of bad prep under the paint. you can see the primer and theres no sand scratches on it to let the paint adhere to so if the fender is like that a good chance some or the rest of the car is like that. :( so as a painter/bodyman i suggest putting the stripe back on the fender. and that will help with the color match too, it wont be as noticeable.

i think it look awesome you couldnt tell the difference! only give away is the pin stripe! but like you had said just get some pnstriping on the fender and then no one will know at all! looks really nice man!
