hello.I'm having a problem with refilling freon in my 99 sho.the low side,if i'm correct,is in the back left, while standing in front of the hood. The high side is in the front left near the battery.I've included a couple pics (links) of the schrader valves. The high side valve looks o.k.,but the low side is too big,and the low side hose will not even come close to fitting on it.Is there some kind of adapter that is missing on the low side?.Is the hose the wrong Hose?any help would be great. Thanks

Comparing to my car your high side fitting looks like the correct fitting. Your low side fitting on the other hand looks totally different, much larger than the one I have and it looks like it is actually a shraeder valve. My low side is just a ball check valve just like the high side but smaller. I know the high side is replaceable but don't know about the low side. Maybe it is and just got replaced with whatever the last person that did a/c work had laying around.

a/c help -desperate

it's hot as heck in vegas.Does anyone have any ideas of this low side service port that is in my pics. Can i get a hose or adapter to fit on this? it's a 99 sho,So it was made for R134. maybe the adapter was taken off by someone else.My brother in california has a 97 taurus that has the same problem with the low side port.He bought his car brand new.So it came like that. There must be a special hose or adapter.Any help from the experts? thanks

Refilling that is a total PITA. The refill cans at a parts store don't fit on the end of that?

Let me do some digging in my pictures folder for my car.

Heres what I found, yeah it's not exactly what your looking for though. IIRC the connection is one like that of a air chuck. So your picture of the back one looks correct.

still searching for the answer to refilling my a/c on 99 sho.for those that have serviced the a/c, what kind of a/c refilling hose with coupling did you use to refill.I'm trying the harbor freight a/c gauge kit.the r134 low side coupling will not fit on the low side refilling port near the firewall. Is there different kinds of r134 coupling that might fit on this? thanks http://img382.imageshack.us/img382/9212/01010117fz0.jpg
