A/C question

Okay...my A/C hasn't worked since I got my SHO, but I haven't had the time or money to get it fixed. Being that summer is on its way, I would like to have it; Georgia summers and a black interior do not go well together.

When I turn the **** to A/C, the compressor doesn't kick on, but if I go to MAX A/C, the fan blows harder, as it is supposed to. The compressor doesn't start up on either setting.

I know it's not much info to go on, but is my A/C shot, or could it be just the clutch on the compressor not engaging?

When this happened to my '90 the compressor/cluth were fine but a small leak had drained the R12 out of the system.
To avoid damage, the compressor will not engage if it is not charged properly.
You most likely will have to go to an A/C shop to find out.
