I had a new compressor/clutch installed last year.
Lately, it has been 90 degrees. When the car is IDLING, the air gets a bit warmer (still somewhat cool, but not near enough). Stop and go traffic.
But when on the move (highway), it blows COLD.
Is this normal, or could the ac belt not be tensioned properly?

When the car is at higher RPM's the compressor will cycle a little more frequently causing the coolant to flow more therefore creating cooler air. R-12 is still used in large AC systems like with the Copeland Scroll compressor for buildings, etc. Maybe we can get some and make our AC's work like no other..

I would check to make sure that the fans are on. Without the proper air flow across the condensor, the freon will not cool back down as well when sitting in traffic. But will remain cold at highway speeds. Good luck
