a/c pump question

When I turn my a/c on, I hear a screech for a little and it goes away and when I'm driving you could feel it engage and disengage and you can hear a small screech. Does it suppose to feel like that and the screech, does it mean that I need to tighten my belt or something? Thanks.

Could be the belt, should check it and tighten if needed. Could also be the ac clutch, maybe a pulley.
