I know for a fact that I have a leak in my A/C. Here's the dilemna: I got it recharged last year to see how long it would take to lose its charge. Result: about a week.
The condenser has a leak as well as a pipe leading to the evaporator/dryer.
Should I get a new condensor and evaporator/dryer installed (about $cdn700.00) or replace only the evaporator/dryer and recharge the system with refrigerant and A/C stop-leak (about cdn$350.00) and hope the leak isn't too big?

The dash has to come out to replace the evaporator, not a fun, or cheap job. A/C stop leak?? these systems run at 200-300 PSI. I'll pass on the stop leak, and replace whats leaking. The good news you should have the r 134, much cheaper than the old r12.
