Hi there, Ive got a 1991 SHO Plus, and the AC clutch is not getting any current. I put a lead tester into the harness that goes to the AC clutch, and it just has no juice when I switch on the A/C. Isn't there a fusebox under the hood on a GEN1, the 15amp fuse under the steering column is OK for the AC, and clues why it may not be getting the current to the clutch?

First, remove the connector from the pressure cycling switch and short the connector's pins together with a paperclip. See if the clutch energizes. If so, either the switch is bad or the system is low on refrigerant.

If it didn't cycle, the next check is the CCRM (ICM). It has the relay in it that controls the AC clutch coil.

Try swapping it out if you have a known good spare.

There's more, but those are the more likely causes.

Hey ProjectSHO89,
I'm in St.Peters & have a 94 SHO whose A/C does not turn on. I'm a real novice when it comes to this & have read the various posts here on the forum. What can I do to have you take a look ??

Will low freon ( r134) keep it from getting current to the harness connector at the coil ? It had pressure til I emptied it, planning to replace the compressor. SO, fill it again, then short that switch?

I pulled the cycle switch harness connector, and it wasnt even connected. the spades from the sensor were broken off into the harness connector. I went and bridged the contacts in the harness, still no juice to the clutch. Ford is sending over a new ERCM. What after that if it doesn't worK.
