Guys I am having A/C issues the air blows to the floor and defrost only it blows hot and cold but not out of the main vents. I replaced the blend door motor on the driver side but it is still not working what can I do to fix this I really don’t want to tear the dash out.

There are two more on the passenger side, one right behind the glove box (easy to change) and another near the floor board that is a pain to change. I replaced both of those to fix my AC issue.

The hard one behind the plastic you can’t get off and enormous bundle of wires you can’t move controls temp between passenger and driver side. I had what you wanted on the driver side and the passenger was full AC all the time. Not fun in the winter. So it doesn’t sound like that one is your problem, luckily.

This is a known issue and I am in the process of replacing the actuator as well as I have the same issue. The one behind the cluster. It's a pain, but doable after watching the following video.

Very, very helpful. It's for the Explorer but I'm certain it's the same for the SHO.

Which of the three is actually failing me and which part numbers to replace because I went to auto zone and there seams to be two different models for our tauruses As far as what the autozone dude said. And if I have changed the one on the driver side does that mean that the actuator for main passenger facing vents should be fixed? Do I need a whole new hvac control module?

So you already changed the one shown in the video link I posted? Because that is the one that selects between defrost, floor and main. If you did change it already, did you make sure it was clocked properly?

I changed one on the driver’s side the one on the right side of the leg tunnel a little bellow the steering wheel. Is there two of them on the driver side?

They need to design these with metal gears planned obsolescence.

Redesign for an abandoned platform? Probably not. Plastics in moving parts and underhood heat are a PITA for alot of cars out there. They just won't stop cost cutting.

Ok...again...watch the video. I gave you a part number, a video on how to do it, and a link to the tool you'll need. Not sure what else I can do for you...it's all there for you.

I’m not 100% sure but your explorer might be a bit more buried than ours. 6DA5482D 785D 45D7 8AF6 EFDBD5E05EE6Thankfully I haven’t had to find out cause it still doesn’t look like the most fun you’d have that day but ours is plenty accessible from underneath.

@Sharpcoolman if you changed this one and the problem persists it’s either not clocked correctly or your problem is a different actuator.
I changed the reachable ones the ones under the driver side is changed the one behind clove box changed the only one not changed is the hard to reach one but that one doesn’t actuate it the way I am having problems. I think it could be the clocking is wrong I will check it again that is something I missed. I probably messed it up now that I think about it I wanted to plug it in and make sure it moved before I committed to putting it on
