99 SHO at the junkyard

Was at a local u-pull-it today and there was a 99 silver sho in there. Complete from head to toe. Pulled the front valve cover for giggles and sure enough the cam slipped. You could see the shavings and fresh metal.

I would say this cam gear design is as bad as the *** metal valve seats exploding Ford ****** motors at any random mileage.

Don't feel bad poor part design has been plaguing the US Ford motors since the early 80's in the Escorts.

My car has cloth seats which is odd I guess, and a cupholder that folds out from the armrest. Can't seem to find those parts anywhere. I did get the antenna and the moonroof motor cover

Yeah interior was flawless, so was the exterior Seats are gray if i recall though....I'm picking up a hood from the car so I don't have to paint mine .

on the seat, fwiw, call some local upholstery shops and see what they can do for you. I found one near me that gave me an estimate of $100 to make my shredded ds seat look good. It won't be leather, but they said nobody will be able to tell.

That will probably be my first non-mechanical repair after the important stuff is done.
