Hey folks, i have NO clue what the gen3's value at. A little about this car. Its all stock, 97, 65or so miles. The car is pretty damn mint. No rust anywhere on the car, interior is perfect, idles real nice, no unusual noise or anything of that nature. Transmission shifts good. Cams have NOT been welded, but i still do not know what these cars go for. Keep in mind this is a real nice example of a well kept V8 SHO. What do you folks believe its worth? What should i offer??

Thanks!

Seesh. Can offer that i suppose but they wont come close to matching it :p My 96 Vulcan sable with 85k on it was $3500 2 yrs ago. The local 99 sho with 63k they want $10k and I offered $8500 which he did accept after "talking to his boss." Never got it and it still sitting there.

There's what it's worth to the SHOforum public and what it's worth to the un-SHO educated public. I paid $6700 for a 97(stock) with 66K mi 2.5 years ago. Had I know I could find a welded V8 for 4-5K in SHO trader well...

I paid $4500.00 for my 1998 just a few months back. The cams were not welded at the time but they are now.
Just turned 50K on the clock this week..

Guys, keep in mind this is a canadian sho. There aren't as many up here and finding a CLEAN one is next to impossible. This is a summer car only, no winters!

Considering the circumstances, I think $5500-6500 would be reasonable. It is hard to find CLEAN Gen 3s with low miles.

I think I paid $23K for mine when it was 9 months old. That is Canadian. I do not think paying as high as $8k Canadian is unreasonable for that low a use car that is very clean, but you are still looking at going right away for another $800-$1000 CA to get the cams done.

Where are you? I am out in BC.

My 99 was $6,945 last August but talked them down to $5,100. Still too much, but it is very clean.

Of course they had never heard of the cams slipping and didnt know what I meant when I asked if the cams were welded :bonk:

I have a friend that bought a 98 Vibrant White from Oklahoma with around 50k miles a couple of months ago and he paid just about the same if not a little more than mine. He of course has money and will only buy vehicles with low miles and with no flaws in the body. He had it welded in Grand Island and the guy said it was the cleanest SHO motor he'd ever seen.
