So, I have a 96 SHO. I just put in a new fuel pump and filter, changed the Cats and plugs and TPS. I have no codes showing, but for some reason it has no power. It starts every time and idles good, but once I drive it it bogs down. Today I took it out and it bogged down when I tried to accelerate and then it would shut off. It would start right up after that. Any Ideas?

You have a failing coil or coils. One set of Ebay coils I bought were defective and caused a serious misfire and hesitation from the start. And with no codes.

Look up alanisdeals on EBay, you can get DG465 or Visteon/Motorcraft 60-1007 coils from them.

So finally the CEL came on. I pulled the code and got P0231 for the fuel pump relay. I checked the wires to make sure there were no issued before putting the gas tank back in. Is there any way to make sure it's the relay?

Hold up. So you took the liberty of dropping the gas tank and checking wiring BEFORE seeing if just getting a new relay was the answer? You, my friend, deserve an award. :thumb:

Not Exactly. The fuel pump went out, so I changed it. While it was down I made sure they were ok.
I do my best to not do more than I have to.

Sorry for this "late" newby question but where is this relay ? I have a 96 with a similar issue (not sure). I want to check mine.

Thanks for the info,
