Hi all, new to the forum, cant believe it took me so long to find it. I have many grand plans for my 94, well see what cashflow and the missus will allow to materialize. One quick question, I want to be the 96 brake upgrade, as my brakes need done anyway. Looking for the caliper brackets. Stumbled upon Rock Auto, prices seem good but the claiper brackter listed for the 96 SHO has the same part number as thoes listed for the other models. Is this right, i though they were different. There is a picture also, which i compared to the picture in the break upgrade piece of SHOTimes, and it doesnt look to be the right bracket. I was wondering if someone could clear this up for me. Thanks. Looking forward to getting to know everybody. Thanks

Most likely its not the correct bracket. The correct bracket has FN74 stamped on it. I recommend buying the remanufactured loaded calipers from Advanced Auto. They come with the correct brackets.

I was suspicious. So am I correct when I say that the 96 SHOs have different brake setups than the other 96s. Darn, I saw that price 19 something and thought Id got lucky. So the calipers from Advanced come with the brackets, calipers and pads? I couldnt find anything like that just pads for 96 SHOs, do you have a part number. I've been neglecting my SHO for the past few years and have recently rediscovered my passion for the car, trying to get it back in to top shape, this place sure will help.

Thanks

I've posted the part numbers a couple times before. Search in this forum and the brake modifications forum for my name and 96 brakes and you should find it. If you can't let me know, and I will look it up.

Buy the caliper brackets for a 2001+ taurus or 2000+ sable. The brackets pads and rotors are the same as what's on the 96 upgrade. Go to the local auto parts store and get them. They all sell them. But, none of them have realized that the brackets are the same as the 96 upgrade so they haven't changed that in the books yet. BK 6751579 is the part number for the FN74 front caliper bracket at Napa. Motormite 619103 is the part number at Advance auto. Autozone does not seem to sell one. Buy all the part from an 01 sable. That's where I got my parts in the junkyard so I'm gaurunteeing they will fit! That is as long as the parts the store sells you are the right ones for that car...:D
