96-99 CV Axles

A number of years ago I replaced the Passenger-side CV Axle on my 99 SHO, and remember jumping through hoops to make sure that I got the right part number. (If memory serves me well, it end up coming from NAPA after heading to about every auto parts store.).

I now need to replace my drivers side CV Axle (intense wobble on acceleration. worse under hard acceleration) and am running into the same issue of finding the right part number. I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find a thread where someone actually lists the part number(s) to get the "non-SLO" axle.

Anyone else run into this problem? Have some part numbers? Or use the SLO axles?

I must admit that these infos are sometime tough to retreive from V8SHO.com (lack of order). At least, you can find a good one in scrapyard too.

Thanks so much, hadn't seen that part of the site before. Tried the NAPA store and got the SHO-specific part, but looked exactly like the SLO CV axles with the dimples (even though the picture online was different).

Will try the local dealer, but not sure they will have these in stock.

Timing is terrible as the S80 v8 just got rear-ended. Looking like the busted CV is going back in tomorrow. Wobbly is better than walking.

(PS. sig is a couple years old, trying to keep this gal rollin at 275k.)

When I restored my SARC front struts, I found good low mileage parts here (their system differenciate SHO from SLO parts) :

Guys shipped the parts by bus with no big fees (100$ us).
