I've just about completed all my suspension work and the 96 brake upgrade. I went to install my new (remanufactured) calipers and realized the bolts didn't fit. After some webs searching, I found out they gave me 95 Town Car calipers.
I compared the pads between the town car and the PFZ 598-20's (continentnal), and the town car is definitely wider (longer) but not as tall. It also needs slightly larger caliper/knuckle bolts. I'm assuming 14mm vs 12mm. It also looks like it would require slight drilling of the knuckle bolt holes (maybe 1mm or so) for the bolts to fit. Everything else seemd to line up.
From what I understand, you get more breaking power on the outer edge of the rotor. A wider pad would be better than a taller one, correct? I'm probably going to exchange my calipers tomorrow for the continentals. I just wanted to know if anyone experimented with this set up before?
Thanks
