I have no cats. I do have an oil leak from the cam seals. There is black soot on the tailpipes.

Could I have messed up my O2 sensors?

Thanks in advance.

Black or dark gray exaust smoke indicates a very rich running engine. Inoperative O-2 sensors will send the EEC computer into the "limp-in mode" which is rich. You should also consider a plugged air cleaner, fouled spark plugs, poor performing plug wires, and/or anything blocking the flow of air into the throttle body or intake. Check the snorkle tube for any splits or cracks and check for any vacuum leaks.
