Hello, my problem is on my ATX when driving slowly when first taking off down the road the tranny goes to shift upto second and it will lock up for just a second. Tranny place says he's never heard of it. The car has about 90k miles on it and never driven hard. Anybody ever experience this? Oil looks and smells perfect.

Thanks

When you say "lock up", are you referring to a delay or lag in the time that the tranny takes to shift from first to second?

So you get tire scratch or chirping on the 1-2 shift? Out of curiosity, how hard and quick is your 1-2 shift?

Thanks for the kind words, BTW.

At about what throttle position does this "lock up" shifting occur?

Does it normally happen after the engine and/or tranny has warmed up?

Need ... more ... info ... ;)

Throttle is at about the slowest you could possibly accelerate and the tranny is cold only went down the driveway.

It's normal for the tranny to behave like you described when the tranny (fluid) is cold and the throttle position is low to nil. If this is the only time when it happens, then I wouldn't worry about it. :)
