Probably a silly question, but I'm wondering if the front spindles are the same on the regular taurii and the SHO's. I'm planning to upgrade brakes this winter and have found a set of front spindles at a pick-a-part off a normal Taurus, are there any differences?

Some are, some are not. It 's not across the board. you need a car equipped with ABS. The majority of 94 - 95 Taurus and Sables where not equipped.

Please read the brake upgrade sticky at the top of the page; this is covered in detail. The spindles (actually they are steering knuckles) are the same IF and only if the car has ABS brakes. They can be found on SLO Taurus's, but are more commonly found on Sables. My set came off of a 94 Sable. Ask the JY to unplug, rather than cut, the ABS sensor cables, and you'll probably be able to reuse them to save $$.

Because late model (through 2007) Taurus brake calipers work, one can find clean, serviceable calipers with the FN74 brackets for a good price. I paid $30 each for a set off of a 2005 Taurus with 30K miles. Even the pads were in great shape and I reused them.

I am looking for a non-ABS setup (2 Sets) if anyone knows of any...
