93 SHO power antenna

HELP! I must have a GHOST or something. My 93 SHO's power antenna mast goes up and down by itself, with the radio (JBL) on or off. When I turn the ignition switch on the antenna goes up, and then back down, sometimes up just a few inches. WHAT'S GOING ON?

power antennas have something in their works that tells when to stop going up or down. they learn their on day one and work that way from then on unless something changes [bent ant, ice on mast & others] sounds like your internal controls have gone kaput. try disconnecting completely, push in by hand, reconnect, restart radio, and cross your fingers. otherwise replace but save your mast and gear cord if in good shape.[may need later on say next winter's ice]
