1. Is there enough clearance to replace low spd servo piston/O-ring without removing xmission?

2. Should O-ring replacement be enough or should piston also be replaced?

3. Any other comments/suggestions on this task will be appreciated.

Hello fellow ATL-area SHO owner
My ATX sho experience is limited but if i remember right...the servos are only a coupla inches from the subframe, and if they are then they wont be able to be removed in the car. Is the servo externally leaking or do you have a transmission shifting concern?

Answer to CheckerSHO question

There is a little shudder when shifting from 1 to 2. After 105K miles thought rebuild of the servo might help and perhaps wasn't bad preventative maint in any event.

Upon further research...that servo is for the low-intermediate band and its on in both 1st and 2nd gear...so it shouldn't affect your 1-2 shift. The 1-2 shift consists of the Intermediate clutch applying, everything else that was on in first gear stays on.

1-2 shift problems are almost always a result of the stock aluminum forward clutch piston shearing, which cannot be reached without disassembling the tranny.
