it says to remove the retaining clips for the cv shafts and discard them... one of mine disappeared, where the heck can you get 'em?

What says to do that? And which one are you "missing"? The passenger side axle wont have one where it goes into the trans.

1.Find a shop that rebuilds CV axles and get the part off of them
2.pay a visit to the junkyard and pull one off another car.
3.Post something in the WTB section. Im sure there are tons of people with scrap parts floating around, and shipping is fairly quick too.

not 100% sure which clips your talking about either. Are you referring to the bands that hold the boots on? or the clips that go on the ends of the shafts and go inside the transmission?

If you are talking about the bands that hold the boots on, you can get a CV boot kit from most auto parts stores that has the boot, grease, and clamps.
