92 mtx transmission

I have got a 92 sho that i just got running and it grinds into second gear. it wont go in at all if you are moveing if you are stoped it goes right in no grinding at all. all other gears are great no grinding at all i just cant figure out why it wont go into second while moveing.

mine does the same thing.. Try changing you tranny fluid... also, until you do, shift it slower and let the syncro take its time.

try and match engine speed to rpm. i drive truck and have a bad habit of not using the clutch, no problems.

Id also try chaging the fluid to some new SYN Mobil 1
are your engine/transmission mounts in good shape?

Look at my post. "grinding going into 2nd gear", I just posted that last week or search using my name. There you would see what ppl said what I should. See if that helps some.

that helps i was doing what one of them on there was and that was going from 1 to 3 as long as i am stoped i can start in 2 and go to 3 no problem. it just wont go from 1 to 2 while moveing. i had to piece the tranny together from a 91 that whouldent shift and 2 92 that the diff pin shot through. does anybody know if the insides of the two trannys are the same or not because i had to switch out a set of the gears and i have no clue on what gear is what

Yea, if you pull out your 1-2 syncro and blocking ring, me stinks your problem would be gone if you swapped those out.

What was the issue with the 91?

the issue with the 91 is that the shaft was stuck so i couldent shift at all. when i took apart i swaped out the thing that lets you shift and a set of gears because a keyway fell out and i dident want to mess with all that because i have no manual or anything to tell me how to put it back together.does anybody know of any manuals i can get? or a pic of the 1-2 syncro and blocking ring because not sure what is what.
