91 mtx with JBL

I bought the car yesterday and it has no hu in it. What years/cars can i get the radio out of that will work. I would also like to get the optional cd player to in with it. Any recomendations? :confused:

For plug and play you need the radio out of a '90 or a '91. If you swap the black JBL amp also you can use the radio out of a '92-'95 SHO and most other mid '90 Ford vehicals. To add the CD player you will need a CD compatable tape deck, a slave CD player, the 6 pin CD signal cable, and the 6 pin CD power cable. The CD players are easy to find but the cables can be tricky. I recently found a place that sell the cables but they are a bit pricy ($100 for both). Another option is to find an AM/FM CD player. You will pay a bit more for it but you won't have to worry about the rare cables. If you deside to go with the slave CD player try and find one from a '98-'99 Mustang, they have the least problems and will play burned CD the best.
