I just finished a 60K service (at 120,000 miles)on a local gentleman's 1993 3.0L yesterday, and have posted some of the pictures on my PhotoIsland site. To see the pictures of Darryl Culpepper's "young" SHO (and several others), click the address below and enter the guest password:

The prices on that list posted above are a bit higher that what you must pay to get the same parts from other sources. Yes, I have a list and yes, I have posted parts of it before in the Forum. For having all of the services performed (valve gapping, cleaning) and parts installed (plugs, valve cover seals, plug well seals, oxygen sensors, front main seal, water pump, crankshaft position sensor, timing belt, accessory belt(s)), you can expect labor charges in the $1K+ range. A big "+" if you go to a dealership with the added joy of usually finding the job wasn't done right.
The car I worked on the last couple of days had been worked on at it's 60,000 mile service by FPS in Atlanta, GA. It was nice to work on an engine that hadn't gone over 120,000 miles without any service. However, I found the rear, lower intake bracket bolts to be missing or loose. The valve cover bolts to be only finger tight (and leaking). Several of the plugs were only finger tight. RTV was used in large amounts on the plug wells which were still full of oil (there are two sides to a seal - putting RTV on only one side is not much help). The valves were still gapped fairly well (9 out of spec high), but most of the shims had the numbered side up and were previously used shims. I replaced all 24 shims and used 16 new shims. Once again, the #4 exhaust valves were the farthest out of spec at .408mm and .432mm on a range of .25mm to 35mm.
The car ran like a smooth, purring cat when finished. One that just happens to turn into a lion when provoked. It ran like the SHO engine was designed to run. Long live the SHO. It just takes TLC.
