Hi guys,

I want to be pro active and do my 60k now. I get 100000 miles on my car, which is running good. I've been to the SHO Shop website, and others offering these kits, which all seem to have many options. my question is, what parts of the 60k maintanence are most important? which could I hold off on right now? I am willing to spend the cash, but don't want to do unnessessary maintanence. any help would be much apreciated

Lower end: Water pump, CPS, front crank seal, timing belt, accessory belts.

Upper end: valve adjustment (need shims and tools), valve cover gasket set with the all important plug well seals, intake gasket set, spark plugs, plug wires, LOTS of Berryman's B-12 for cleaning the intake runners and cylinder head intake ports. Might want to buy the throttle body gasket for a couple of bucks. It's not included in the above gasket sets. It is pretty sturdy but if you want to replace it, have it on hand from the beginning.

All the other sensors and hoses and thermostat can be replaced later on an as needed or as desired basis without taking a lot of stuff apart. The items in the list above involve taking quite a bit apart so it's best to do them all at once.

Scott (sdpatt) has a list that has all the items with the vendors that sell them cheapest. Ask him for it. Generally, you can't go wrong buying parts from Ford Parts Network and shonut. Autozone sells the gasket sets for the best price too.

Do you mean these listings?
3.0L A1 Cardone 57-1373 RockAuto.com $10core $36.95
3.2L A1 Cardone 57-1458 RockAuto.com $15core $50.77

It's the same pump. It's just easier to return the old core for a refund at a local shop. Also, most local auto supplies provide a lifetime replacement warranty that is much easier to work with when you don't have to ship the parts.
