5x114.3 vs 5x115 with rings

I ordered a set of wheels from carid I ordered the 5x114.3 and was sent 5x115. After 45 minutes on hold I was told that 90% of aftermarket wheels for our pattern are actually sent out as the 5x115s. Is this true? Is it gonna hurt me to run them?

Firstly, keep in mind they are a business and trying to make money. Paying to have them shipped back and ship you the correct set means they lose. This is they’re main reason. Regardless, I’m shocked a legitimate business would actually tell you that.

The debate on 5x114.3 and 5x115 being interchangeable has been going on for years. With 15+ years in the wheel/tire biz, my answer “no”. However I know vehicles running the alternative bolt pattern with (apparently) no issues.

With that said, I would 100% return those for the correct size. There is NO way I would compromise on this with a NEW set of wheels I purchased. If I was you I’d return the wheels and buy elsewhere.

There is .027" difference in those bolt circles. Wheels are something that must run exactly true. I would not interchange those 2 on a daily driver, much less any kind of performance vehicle.

Return them. I had a very similar experience with them and they weren’t willing to listen to me until I had my credit card issue a charge back.

Carid is notorious for this sort of thing. I've never had any issue the few times I've used them, but I hear the stories, here and other forums.
