The other day I filled up my sho at the gas station, turned the key and it just clicked. So the starter is gone, and I am just wondering how much does a starter for a 95 atx sho cost installed?

Are you sure that its the starter. Kind of sounds like a low batt. Or was it engaging but not turning. Either way test the batt to be sure.

Not the battery because when you turn the key none of the lights dimb, and it is a newer battery.

Tap it with a hammer (this not an officially recommended parctise) if it starts then it is the starter. I checked into one a while back and it was like $160-180 for a reman and $150 for a local shop to rebuild it.

I believe a starter can be had for something like $135 from advance with lifetime warranty...or $106 with a 1 year warranty.

I would try to the hammer...when mine started dieing, I verified it being my starter by tapping it a few times with the tire iron when it didnt want to start. After a few taps, it fired right up.

Mine did the same thing when it failed. Went and filled the gas tank up, went to start and nothing. I pushed it out of the way and got a ride home from my sister. Went the next morning to try and fix it and it started right up. I replaced the starter and never had another problem.
