I searched for about 15 minutes and couldn't find anything, so I'm gonna go ahead and ask, sorry if this has already been asked though.

A 4th gen front end will fit on the front end of a 3rd gen, and i've seen a V8 in place of a V6 on a 3rd gen, but is there any chance that the V8 could be put into a 4th gen? (I'd sure love to see a SHO in the 4th gen body)

Im taking it as you want to put the SHO's Motor into a 4th gen correct?
It sounded as if you wanted to swap the front end, as in body parts, at first....

Dont think its been done. Allthough seeing as a GIII-to- GII swap was just completed, it may be plausible...

I have to admit, the GIV, while dropped, equiped with some nice rims, and a Mach1 chin spolier look awesome. And add the V8 SHO to that, and you have one nice car.... IMO...

Would be worth a shot to get engine bay dimensions... just to see if it was at all possible.

There is a GEN 3 SHO with a GEN 4 front body.

And Kirk has always talked about putting a V8 into a GEN 4.

I suppose if a Gen III fits in a Gen II, then it'd sure as **** better fit in a Gen IV.

The Gen IV has same engines as the 3rd gen, save for the SHO engine, so I can't imagine why it'd be much different size in the engine bay. I'll look into it a little, if you find any links post em here, i'd love to read more about what other people have found out.

Swapping over a Gen3 SHO Motor over to a Gen4 Chassis is possible... sheez, I mean it's basically the same car with a minor tweak!

The only difference should (if any) maybe just the pins in the electrical plugs. If pins are identical in size you can move them around to match the different year/model, if they totaly different connectors then you will have to cut and splice the new connctor to the appropriate wire. The overall funtion of the EATC's from one year to the next are identical. FAN speed control, compressor clutch control, vent door control and auto temp sensors.

who has money? Im sure I could do this with ease, lots of money too. and before asnyone asks how much dont. because there is no way telling how long to complete the electrical system "correctly" without butt connectors and working properly. the engine, thats the easy part. I can fabricate any motor into the taurus. if time, research and parts are paid for.

ok for the slower ones that will still insist on asking me how much, lets put a price of 10gs with me suppying the driveline (welded of course)!

ok whos writing the first check? :) or who can save the most for the one that I will be driving to the convention in 07. I have been ammassing certain parts for 2 years for this and if you have seen some of my other stuff you for sure will LOVE this car...

after this car is done sold and gone ill be retireing from the SHO industry, it will be my finishing point.

tnx ryan for the point.

I for one wouldn't pay for a 4th gen SHO. I love the 3rd gen body too much. But it's good to see that someone is working on it!
Kirk, can't wait to see it at the convention. You not bringing the genII race car?

I'd throw a V8 AT your car!

Kirk's right, though. I picked up a Continental motor for pretty cheap a couple months ago. Unfortunately, without someone who knows the ignition and electrical system inside and out, I'm going to be pretty screwed when...or if...I start this swap. Maybe I'll just ship the motor and a trans up to Kirk's shop and have him do it...
