46mm offset!

I have searched and came up with different outcomes...so I thought that I would throw this out to the experts! Will a 17x8 wheel with 46mm offset work on a gen2........the offset is a little larger than I like, but I might have a good deal on my hands.....can i run 235/45/17's? thanks in advance!

I dont think that they will, i had 17x7 with 45mm offset and they were pretty close to the strut.

They will absolutely not work without spacers.

okay then, how about if I added like 6-8mm spacers? would that make them sit like I had 38-40mm offset wheels?
