...well, I am scouring the interwebs for one of these. I've got a set of EPP hot pipes and I'm looking for the same weld bung that is used for mounting the sensor on the short intake manifold tube.

I see them all over the internet, but either they are meant for other sensor types or don't show their dimensions or list fitment for the FoMoCo sensor. I've reached out to Bambic to see if he'd be willing to part with just the weld bung but haven't heard back yet.

In the meantime, anybody know of any resources? @FiveLeeter918 do you guys have any access to these things or have a source? Or know any additional info I can use to search? Who actually makes the Ford sensor, Bosch?

I have to imagine these are available somewhere as they aren't just found on our platform.

Thanks...

hmm good question. I have a few customers that made their own hot pipes, let me reach out to them and see where they sourced it or if they CNC'd their own.

You’re machine’y over there. It’s just a block of aluminum with a hole and two screw threads.
It's a bit more complex than that. I just have a lathe. Would need a CNC. Not impossible but would look like crap if it wasn't machined right. Not to mention the investment of time and materials wouldn't be small compared to something that already exists (if it does). I see them all over the internet for betwen $10 and $30, but either they are meant for other brand sensors or they don't list dimensions, which I'm hesitant to buy without them.

I've got a few other options if this doesn't pan out, but I'd rather buy something off the shelf if it already exists before I go there. Bambic has to source them from somewhere, or has them made, I just need to convince him to sell me one or point me to where he gets his.

Reached out to him and he said that the shop that made the hot pipes for him fabricated it himself.

He said you can replicate it with a piece of 1/2" aluminum, a drill press and some sand paper haha.

Yeah, it's not impossible to make, just nice when it's done on a CNC. Thanks for reaching out.

Is there a way to shop it with the opening dimensions? I don't know all the ways they list them for sale other than by make/model of car. I assume if the opening is correct and the shape is close you can get it to work.

Nah, most just list them by make/model. I'd have to find one of those that match dimensions of our MAP sensors to use that method.

Lol, I know somebody makes em, I just need to find out who. Wish Bambic would get back to me as his is just what I need. Hopefully he'll sell me one. Anyway, I'll just wait for the right piece, I'm in no rush and don't mind paying a bit extra. jajajaja

I'd go to McMaster any day before I visit a big box store. But I usually don't mind the wait for shipping. Since I'm in Cali and their big warehouse is here, I usually get it next day.
