My 93 MTX is running on 4 cylinders. I ran the codes and I get a #3 coil pack out, which makes since, because I think it in cylinders 3 and 5 have no spark. I swapped the coil from my 89 downer and the same thing. Funny thing sometimes it will pick back up all six and run great. Any suggestions would help.

Do you have check engine light on, or just like that?

The Check engine light is on, and I can't remember the code. I tried to swap the DIS from the 89 but the car would not start. Thanks for the help, just hate chasing gremlins. I plan to get a new DIS and try that next, Thanks.

Re-try it , but this time bolt all 4 bolts tight , only 3 or loosely screwed wont cut it. I already had a no-start with 3 bolts tight. It grounds itself to the intake. Make sure the back end is clean of crap.

Put some thermal paste or something on the back of the DIS when you reinstall. Keeps some of the heat out of the sensor.

I believe the bottom two bolts are what the ground runs through...... I think it shows you in the sho engine pdf file we have floating around here

if they are not fully tight, you will have no chance of firing up....... likewise make sure all the ground/bolts/brackets on the crossover tube to engine are tight/on as well......
