Whats going on people. Did some searching ,and alot of reading , and decided Im going to do a 92+atx swap to my 89mtx. Any advice you guys can throw at me would be appericated.

Also can anyone tell me if i should do the 3.0 heads to the 3.2block, or the 3.2 motor with 3.0 cams ,and access? Kind of torn, and seeig mixed reviews. trying to find the easiest way to do this swap any info or tips would help me out. Anyone wantto elp free brewskis, and dinner lol.Thanks.

I actually swapped a 3.2 into my '91 about 2 years ago. The reason some people use the 3.0 heads is because if you use the 3.2 heads you need to cut off a piece in the front in order to mount the alternator. It depends on what you think is easier for you. When I did my swap I used the write-up on shotimes.com, and any other questions I had I found answers searching through old posts here. Really the most important thing is that you have to use all of the 3.0 accessories, but you can use either oil pump. I believe the 3.2 pumps a slightly higher volume, but I stuck with the 3.0 because if you use the 3.2 there is an open space on the bottom of the timing belt covers that I didn't want to deal with.

Swap your engine harness to the new engine also.

Otherwise it's just a matter of stripping the 3.2 down to the BARE block and heads and swapping EVERYTHING over from the 3.0. By keeping the the 3.2 heads, you will save about $100 on head gaskets.

Just use the 3.2 head and chop off the little chunk of aluminum that's in the way. Only use the 3.2 block and heads. Use the 3.0 harness, oil pan, accessories.

Got you, but i read that people are swapping over the cams. Should that be done, or should I leave the cams from the 3.2. any improvments in swapping them?

I used to have a site bookmarked where someone put there SHO on a dyno after a swap with both the 3.2 and 3.0 cams. With the 3.0 cams there was a gain of 1 peak HP and a few HP throughout the powerband. I'll see if I can find that link.

your right, its not much of a gain, but its not too hard to put cams in these engines either.
