Has anyone else heard that Fel-pro has come out with a 3.2 head gasket set?

I emailed FM last night and got this:

====
"Thanks for your input regarding gaskets for the Ford 3.2L SHO engine.

We do recognize there is a demand for this application and we have come out
with a new Fel-Pro head set part number to cover this application. The
part number is HS26228PT and will cover 1993-1995 for Taurus SHO 3.2L DOHC engines. In addition we offer the Head gasket separately as Fel-Pro part number 26228PT. These sets are now available for sale and can be ordered through any Fel-Pro distributor.

Jim Daigle
Product Manager, Fel-Pro Gaskets
Federal-Mogul Corp."
===

If this is true, it should be a happy day in the SHO community, and we should all send Jim Daigle some fan mail. :thumb:

I have to head off to the daily grind, maybe someone could check to see if distributors have the new part number in their systems yet.

Awesome news!! Mike, thanks for the call today. :thumb:

It was only a matter of time before they got these things moving after Ford discontinued them. I'm sure a lot of us are sinking down in our chairs right now with a huge sigh of relief. I know I am. :)

Head Set

I'm not sure what all comes in the set. The price I was qouted was for the Headset. I did not price the gaskets seperate. Mike Kelly

WooHOO!!!!!! :biggrin:

3.2L Swap, here I come!! :dribble:

The unavailability of the 3.2L headgaskets was the biggest stopping point for me in doing that swap, but with this news, all signs are go. :cool:

289 for the headset is not bad at all. 2 head gaskets, intake, exhaust, TB, IAC, valve stem seals, valve cover and plug wells, water passage o-rings, et al.

the 3.0 set is 150 from NAPA, so basically youre "Super-Sizing" your head set from 3.0 to 3.2 for 140 dollas.

and if they get to become a stock item in my store, ill get a 20% discount on em :)

I contacted another engine bearing manufacturer the other day and they showed interest in adding both the SHO rod bearings and main bearing sets to thier lineup. They said that if they were to be added look for the application to be listed summer of 2005.

now for HG's. Perhaps someone with a connection out there should see about putting together a group buy on these. See if we all could get some sort of discount running if we get 30-40 sets ordered. Would be a great way to show the demand to Fel-Pro for these by having a nice bump in sales to start with. I know I would love to pay as little as I could for a set, as I think everyone out there would. I am just about to buy new valve cover gaskets for my car, so I'd love to know that they are included along with all the other stuff in a UGS 3.2 set.

Here is the email address for the Product Manager from Fel-Pro that replied to me (see original post in this thread):

I'd be surprised if they would cut a special deal for a specific distributor on a group buy, but it's worth a shot.

I have yet to see a worn out oil pump. Anyone out there heard of an oilpump failure happeningfor more than 2-3 of the 7000+ people on the forum?

I'm soo thankfull that 3.2 HGs are back, means I'll prolly do a 3.3 lowcompression motor for a turbo setup sooner rather than later :)

I wonder how long these will take to get distributed? No autoparts stores are carrying them yet, and they show those part numbers as unrecognizeable. I have checked all the major ones.... So, we know they are out there, how do we get our hands on them? I guess DH is on the job?
