my alternator decided to start squeeling and smoking so i think i need a new one. so i got all the bolts off that i can see and, the damn thing still wont come out. it will wiggle around but it just doesnt want to come out. anyone ever have this problem? also, i spilled coolant on it right before it started smoking and squeeling, is that what caused it to do that?

Once you get the three bolts out, it should just lift straight up and out. I had to replace mine 4 times until I got a good one that worked properly. Can't say about the coolant.

Make sure you have all 3 bolts removed. If it's still in tight take a large screwdriver and gently try to pry it out. It must rotate foreward and up to come out. I just took mine out a few hours ago.

Yeah. Come to think of it. Only replace it if it's not doing its function or becomes a hazard after ample time to dry. Shouldn't be sleep sleep reading posts.

problem, the belt is a bitch to get back no tensioner .... any tricks to get the belt on? ...................... No ajustable tensioner? The idler pully is ajustable, loosen the 14mm nut & ajust with the cap head allen screw at the top. do not over tighten

well, i got it all back togeather finally, the belt is a serious bitch and i feel sorry for anyone that has to do it more than once. i purchased a new belt and put it on and the car is running good now, no smoke or squeeling.... maybe now i'll have enough $ to get myself a exhaust :D boink
