Is it reasonably safe to remove both front wheels and bolt the lug nuts back on to hold the rotors in place and mash the go-pedal?
Do it Ferris Bueller style! thumb

No load on the engine equals bad! Put it on a dyno then you get to see if it works and check out your hp and tq at the same time. thumb

OK, here is a list of vehicals that you can get the correct digital dash from:

90-91 Taurus
90-95 Sable

All clusters from the above cars are the same, and the cluster will bolt in (you still have to do the wiring changes). If you are doing the swap on 90-91 1st gen and you get the trim from a 90-91 Taurus it will snap in (it has fake wood on it though, but you can swap the metal overlay). If you are doing the swap on a 2nd gen you will have to fab the button holder since I have not found any evidence that there ever was a 2nd gen Taurus digital car. The tutorial will be up soon!
the digital dash was available in 86. my moms Taurus LX had one, we hated it.

Yea, the 86-88 Taurus/Sables had a digital option but it won't fit the 90-95 cars (and it is kinda ugly)

I should have put 86-89 not 86-88...

I found that FFV 93 Taurus on ebay. I archived the pics also just to prove it exists :D . Thats the same cluster I have in my car BTW.

I found a 95 Taurus with mocha interior with a digital dash today. I'm planning on going back and gutting the thing as far back as I can for the wiring. Someone please email me any details for stuff that I "should" liberate from the car that it is on.

The gen2 dash bezel even has the little buttons there for the functions. I'd love to add the digital dash to my Opal Frost, provided the speedo can get up to the 140 that my analog one shows. I could give a damn about the tach, I was planning on a digital tach on a pod down the line anyway.

Someone hit me with all the dirt on this project, I'll keep an eye out for other digital dash parts and what not over the next 2-3 days of JY hopping.
