... that the rear is a bit softer then previous PP's?

My 2013 was an awesome handler. Not one bit of complaint whatsoever.

My 2016, the rear suspension just seems "softer" in some way - both springs and maybe even suspension bushings. If there is any dip in the road as I go through a turn, the rear end just moves up and down a LOT more than the 2013 did - and no, I don't have a load of rocks in the trunk :)

It's definitely quieter going over bumps.

Wondering if Ford put whatever parts they had remaining into it as production switched back over to the Explorer at the factory.

Car just feels "heavier" too - more sound proofing? Or just my imagination...

Oh, and one more thing - it's not the shocks, I don't think. Any rough road, the shocks do exactly what they should, no loss of traction. It's not like rebound, it's just that the entire rear of the car moves up and down a lot more than the 2013 did.

Non PP springs, possibly? Incorrect parts from factory are not an unknown phenom ...

if its softer and also quieter going over sharp bumps, it is likely that the bushings are softer than the older ones were, or perhaps the older ones had stiffened up some?
