Well Gents, I changed the oil for the first time, since I've owned it, and was surprised to find oil leaking. Best I can tell, it almost looks like it is leaking on the forward side of the motor, between the block and the head. I know if that were the case, it would be running like crap, but it runs great. Anyone else have a leak like this? I have 12K miles. The first pic is the front of the motor looking down. The bright shiny fins are the back of the alternator, and the rusty metal to the right is the first port of the exhaust manifold. Also, my under side motor cover is missing one of the fasteners, can these be purchased separately?20181014 141947 r

Clean the area off with brake cleaner (cold engine) then monitor it closely. Check the intercooler outlet hose also. Is the throttle body or the intercooler gunked up?

I have similar think it's from using amsoil 0w30 or just the cold I noticed it during my spring oil change
I haven't gone back to ams oil since I believe the Ford pure synthetic is good enough for me and don't have the money for ams oil if I'm having Ford do it during my warranty time

Not to hijack the thread, but what is the pad that is plastered to the bottom of your oil pan?

Yes it's a heater pad we are supposed to plug in at 20 degrees to help emissions but I wait till at least 0 or -20 to save on electricity.
It's easier on the engine I also have one for the transmission.
It's more a necessity when using conventional oils but I wanted to baby this car. When we see -40 for weeks at a time and sometimes -50

When my engine got replaced they had changed out those quick connectors with some screws that still fallout. Not sure if they are switching to the screws or just what the mechanic had on hand
I bought one from my local dealer for my '13 SHO for $5.25. BB5Z-00817-A They are also available on eBay. Google that number.

OP, I can't get a clear fix on the picture. Is that the bottom of the a/c compressor? If so, possibly a/c oil with dye. Pull the shield and wash that thing down and see, that looks to be just at the front of the engine. If you have access to a UV light, they make dye charges for pretty most every fluid in our cars that glow under UV light that helps a lot when locating leaks (which is why they dye charge our a/c systems from the factory).

After trying to get a better look with a bore scope type camera, it looks like it may be a oil pressure sending unit leaking. Can anyone verify that it is located just under the alternator? I was trying to find some sort of parts break down, but had no luck.

I know that is where it is located on the naturally aspirated 3.5, but have to doublecheck on the EB 3.5.
