Shorod, have you tried Kowens1231 fluid change yet? Did it work for you? I have the same noise and have been trying to get rid of it for almost a year now.

This past weekend I used my scan tool to bleed the ABS HCU twice (took 2 quarts of DOT 4 fluid) but unfortunately it had no impact on the noise. Since then I've been moving my ChassisEar microphones all over the place and still the only microphones to pick up the noise are when they are clipped to the HCU. I've even swapped microphones and transmitters to make sure it's not just a microphone or transmitter that happens to be extra sensitive to the noise. So I'm pretty much 98% convinced a replacement HCU will fix the noise.

Thanks, I’ve had my car to the dealership for this noise about 6 times over the last year. I’ve had the rear turbo, timing chains, water pump and both front wheel bearings changed and the noise is still there. The dealership stated that they believe it was because of blow off valves but it wasn’t. They now want to try and check the exhaust manifold bolts/studs claiming that the manifold may be leaking. It doesn’t sound like a leaking exhaust manifold to me. If I figure it out, I’ll let you know. If you figure it out, can you let me know?

Most definitely I'll reply back here if/when I figure it out. If your noise is like mine, it's in no way directly correlated to engine speed or vehicle speed, so any time they spend thinking about exhaust/turbos, the engine, or the wheel bearings, they're wasting their time and your money.

I came across a post that suggested that the squeal/noise could potentially be the passenger axle seal, the output shaft seal of the PTU. I sprayed white lithium grease on it, as much of the seal that I could through the white protector shield, and it now seems that my squeal is gone. I have ordered a new seal because I am assuming that the grease is eventually going to burn off. But, after the last five days, the squeal/noise hasn’t returned so far!

It’s been roughly in the upper 20s and lower 30s, outside temperature wise, the last few days too.

Put it up on 4 jack stands and put it into gear and do a cold start and put it in gear. At least you'll be able to see where the sound is coming from. The pitch changed from start to the next sound a bit and sounded low rpm and rotational. Wheel bearing, brake pads dragging....only other low RPM rotation is in the PTU or the carrier bearing for the right side half shaft or propeller shaft carrier bearing.

I have the exact same “squeal” sound on my 2015 SHO. Cannot determine the cause. Any update on resolution or cause?

Unfortunately for me I've neither fixed the noise or really spent much time searching for it recently. I picked up a full-size Bronco project vehicle for my son and just about all my spare time has gone into projects on that. I forget about my car's noise until I drive it. ;) The noise is still present and pretty consistent in behavior.

I've literally just registered to say I've been having this ******* issue for the past couple of years and sick and tired of dealerships talking nonsense that ends of costing me hundreds and thousands of dollars in the end.

Holy ****, did anybody find a solution to this?!?!! My 2013 SHO is still ******* making this noise upon cold startup for the first couple of minutes.

2015 Taurus SHO - Squealing from engine when cold (Less than 40 degrees). Only happens in the first few miles, and stops after a minute or two down the road. Chirp/Squeal has gotten slightly louder, and lasts for a significantly longer time than it did initially. Any ideas??? Video embedded below....

speed related. wheel bearing

Does your car make the noise upon startup just idling, or only when driving? It's a bit unclear from your last sentence.

Never while idling, it's the same noise described above to the tee. Doesn't seem to have an effect on anything while it's occurring - although extremally annoying and I've just accepted the fact that it'll probably just fail one day.

Well, last week I changed the oil in my car since it was almost due and since some dealers have claimed to other members that the noise was due to turbos. I figured if it really is related to the turbos, it would be likely to be somewhat different with fresh oil. A week later there had been absolutely no change to the very consistent noise. So this past weekend I installed a used ABS HCU and used my scan tool to reprogram the pump to my car and bleed the brakes. I've driven the car two mornings since then and can confidently say the noise is still no different. I'm really at a loss for the source of this stupid noise. It's been a few thousand miles since I changed the PTU fluid, maybe that will be my next thing to see if it makes a difference.

Wheel bearing.
I know there are a lot of posts here so I'll try to summarize the symptoms. The noise does not change with vehicle speed, direction, or engine speed. It's only present when the vehicle has been sitting for lengthy periods of time (like overnight or all day at work), but not right away, more like 60 seconds after starting to drive. It won't make the noise if the vehicle is not in motion. It's so consistent it's almost like something that is timed, like a self test that happens x-seconds after a cold start and lasts for y seconds.

I also realize the PTU should have no effect on these symptoms either, but like the engine oil, it's probably something I should change anyway.

did you check the rotors/pads/calipers? could be a sticking slide pin or piston. i believe there was a tsb for motorcraft brake parts a while back. what setup do you currently have?

i think this is the one

as far as brake parts lubricant, these are the two that i have found to work very well
