So I have a 2013 PP SHO with 61K miles. It's been on **** of a ride with this car with things popping up, but most of those issues have been cosmetic in nature.

However today, when getting my oil changed at my trusty Valvoline Instant Oil change, the person under the car informed me that my transmission was leaking.

Great, awesome, fantastic, and a few other choice words came to mind. I told them I would look into it and thanked them for letting me know. I brought it to my mechanic and we went under the car together looking for this leak. We immediately saw what he was referring to, however it wasn't obvious as to where it was coming from.

After some searching, we found the culprits. Both turbos we're leaking from the oil lines.

Now, normally I'd be pretty upset and concerned about how much this is going to cost, but the silver lining is that I have the extended coverage since, well let's face it, it's a Used Ford... And it's going to cover the Turbos.

The question I have is, is this a bit premature? Oil leaks on BOTH turbos after 61K miles? Makes me question the reliability of this vehicle.

That would be very strange to get both at once. If you have a warranty then make sure you get good use of it. There are plenty of problem areas on these cars.

2013 was a design refresh year for the SHO, so more issues cropped up for that MY. I don't think there are a LOT of problem areas with these cars. But there can be if you follow Ford maintenance schedules.

Yes, the oil feed lines are known to leak, and no set mileage either. Usually after powertrain has expired :)

I would hope that is an anomaly but you never know. I guess all they need to do is replace the lines.
